HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 13, 2011 -- /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today announced the new leaders of the following advisory commissions:
Governor's Advisory Commission on Asian American Affairs: Amy Kiyota has been named executive director of the Governor's Advisory Commission on Asian-American Affairs. Kiyota most recently served as the Development and Marketing Manager for the Asian Arts Initiative in Philadelphia. Amy studied abroad in Asia, is fluent in Japanese, and graduated with honors in East Asian Studies. She is based in the Governor's Southeast Office in Philadelphia.
Commission for Women and Governor's Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs:Maria Montero has been named executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and the Governor's Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs. Montero most recently served as the Northeast PA Territory Manager for Abbott Laboratories. She was a member of GACLA during the Ridge administration, served as the editor of the El Torero Spanish Newspaper based in Allentown, and is a founding member of the Power of Women networking initiative. She speaks Spanish and is based in Harrisburg.
