A Candlelight Vigil for Nelson Mandela Friday December 13th 6:00pm @ LV King Memorial

The International Community of  African and Caribbean Diaspora of the Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania
today expressed in one united voice condolences and praises following the passing of President Nelson Mandela. President Mandela a former president of South Africa who passed away on December 5 is credited with leading South Africa from an oppressive government characterized by segregation and repression called Apartheid to one of multiracial Democracy. He subsequently became the country's first democratically elected president in 1994. Mr. Mandela who also received a Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, served 27 years as a political prison in his home country of South Africa, a nation he eventually helped liberate.

We stands with the people of South Africa in celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela. his bravery, his vision, and his never-ending fight to see Africa reborn. To this occasion the African community of the greater Lehigh Valley is holding a Candle Light Vigil service in memory of the late leader Mandela on Friday December 13, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Martin Luther King & Coretta Scott King Memorial in Allentown PA (located at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Drive & Union Street in Allentown, PA 18102.
