An Allentown jazz saxophonist and composer has been awarded a genius grant in recognition of his "technical virtuosity and engagement with musical traditions and styles from around the world."
Steve Coleman was named one of 21 new recipients of the MacArthur Fellowship on Wednesday, which also comes with a $625,000 award.
