Malcom X's World Years Later Feb 17-19 2015


Lehigh University is excited to host a commemorative conference celebrating the life and contributions of Malcolm X fifty years after his assassination. "Malcolm X's World 50 Years Later: Race, Religion and Revolution Today," will take place on Lehigh's campus from February 17-19, 2015 and will include a variety of keynote speakers, panels, papers, and presentations around the social justice themes associated with Malcolm X's life's work. Speakers include: Tariq Ali (New Left Review), Rosa Alicia Clemente (U-Mass-Amherst, 2008 VP Candidate, Green Party), Michael Eric Dyson (Georgetown), Pap Ndiaye (Sciences Po, Paris), Carolyn Rouse (Princeton), and Omid Safi (Duke). The Conference seeks to illuminate scholarship, activism, and art that speak to the meaning of Malcolm X fifty years after his tragic death. We are pleased to welcome you to what we believe will be a historic and stimulating three days on our campus.
